Mukesh Ambani is the owner of Reliance jio.. Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited, more popular known as Reliance Jio, recently shot to the news when Mukesh Ambani announced the ideas and plans of Jio which shook the telecom industry. Jio, a new entrant in the 4G market, has achieved this growth faster than any other telecom operator or start-up in the world, including the likes of Facebook, WhatsApp and Skype, Reliance Jio Infocomm said in a release.
Reliance jio made its debut to Indian market on sep 5th 2016 officially. With its huge entry, it wiped out all the competitors with its ultimate and unique plans. 1. Investment on jio
Mukesh Ambani invested app 1,50,000 crores in jio. This is probably the highest investment by a company for its start up.
2. jio installed more than 90000, 4 G LTE towers.
Reliance Industries (RIL) Chairman Mukesh Ambani has said that the telecom unit is “ready” to roll out its fourth-generation (4G) services, and will cover 80% of India’s 1.3 billion population by the second half of 2016. “By 2017 end, we would cover 90% and by 2018, all of India will be covered by this digital infrastructure,” Ambani said.
3. Jio is not its actual name
The company was formerly known as Infotel Broadband Services Limited and changed its name to Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited in January 2013. The company was incorporated in 2007 and is based in Mumbai, India. Mukesh Ambani purchased 90 % of the shares in Infotel and renamed it to Reliance jio.
4. Jio is only a 4 G network
Unlike other companies, jio has only a 4G LTE network.
