Xiaomi Mi 8 is a successor to the well-received Xiomi Mi7. These Xiomi Mi phones are flagship devices, so they pack all the latest and greatest internals.
Xiaomi Mi8 was released in May 2018 and features a 6.21-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1080 pixels by 2248 pixels with a pixel density of 402 Pixels per inch. It is an 18:9 panel which makes the display even more amazing to watch. The price of new Mi8 in China is 2,600 yuan which is approximately 406$. Global and Indian variants are expected to launch in June 2018, however, there are no any official announcements yet.
Xiaomi Mi 8 features a 12 MP (f/1.8, 1/2.55″, 1.4µm, 4-axis OIS, dual-pixel PDAF) + 12 MP (f/2.4, 1/3.4″, 1.0µm) dual rear camera which features 2x optical zoom, dual pixel phase detection autofocus, dual-LED flash and 20-megapixel selfie camera.
The Xiaomi Mi 8 runs Android Oreo 8.1 and is powered by a 3400mAh non-removable battery. Xiaomi claims a 1-day battery life with moderate to heavy usage. We found this to be true in our long-term usage.
Xiaomi Mi 8 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 octa-core processor and Adreno 630 GPU. Even graphics intense games like PUBG and Ashpalt8 shouldn’t be an issue. It packs 6GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. No storage problems and multitasking issues what so ever.
The Xiaomi Mi 8 is a dual SIM (GSM and GSM) smartphone that accepts Nano-SIM and Nano-SIM. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, USB OTG, FM, 3G, and 4G. Sensors on the phone include Compass/ Magnetometer, Proximity sensor, Accelerometer, Ambient light sensor and Gyroscope.
Xioami always is known for offering high-value budget friendly mobiles at cheaper prices. This phone is an exception to that because it is a flagship it has to pack all the powerful hardware. In fact, this is the all-time powerful mobile that Xiaomi has ever made. Power packed internals, the latest trendy design made this phone the best offering from Xiaomi. However, we cannot compare this device with the Redmi Note 5 Pro in the Performance section since Redmi Note 5Pro is a budget offering from Xiaomi.
