Xiaomi Redmi 5A Specifications and Review.

Xiaomi launched their new smartphone Redmi 5A. They are calling it “desh ka smartphone” which of course is a marketing strategy to increase regional sales. Redi 5A is exclusively available in Flipkart only.

As always, this Xiaomi device is also a featured packed device with a lower price tag. Redmi 5A shares many similarities with its predecessor, Redmi 4A and it is the most affordable Xiaomi model in India. There is been a lot of hype around it since it is the most affordable feature-packed Xiaomi mobile in India. So let’s explore the features.

Price 

Redmi 5A is priced at 5,999/- Indian rupees for the lower variant (2GB RAM,16 GB internal). The 3GB variant is not yet been introduced into the online stores. This lower prices strategy really worked for Xiaomi in the past, so Xiaomi decided to take it a bit further this time.

*The first five million Redmi 5A units (2GB/16GB) will sell for Rs. 4,999 on Flipkart.

These devices are exclusively available in Flipkart only. If you are really trying to buy a budget beast, then this phone is a perfect fit for you.

Available in 2 color variants for now:    Gold and Grey.

Redmi 5A features a 5.0 inches LCD display.

Resolution: 720 x 1280 pixels, 16:9 ratio.

OS and Processor

Redmi 5A runs on MIUI 9 which is based on Android Nougat 7.1.2

Xiaomi 5A sports Qualcomm MSM8917 Snapdragon 425.

2 variants available:   32 GB, 3 GB RAM or 16 GB, 2 GB RAM

microSD, up to 256 GB (dedicated slot)

Camera

Primary: 13 MP, f/2.2, phase detection autofocus, LED flash

Secondary: 5 MP, f/2.0

It records video at 1080p resolution at 30 fps(frames per second).

Battery

It comes with a non-removable Li-Ion 3000 mAh battery.

Despite 3000mAh battery, The Xiaomi Redmi 5A has a wonderful battery life, thanks to the power efficient Snapdragon 425.

*3.5mm Headphone jack is present just like in any other Xiaomi phone*. This is definitely good news for some Android lovers like me.
